This is one of those surprises in Los Angeles. In the heart of LA there is this park with a lake, fountain, and lotus blossoms (although these have died recently, and will not be replanted for a few years). The neighborhood around this is a hodge podge of recent immigrants, bohemians, with a lively arts and cultural life. In the distance you can see the high-rises of a whole different world.
