This was a painting done plein aire at the Hollyhock House, in Barnsdall Art Park. It was my one and only use of Watercolor Canvas Panels - it turns out they are pretty difficult to manage, and there is a small flaw on the canvas (the diagonal line on the left side of the painting). On the other hand I liked the painting, especially the mass of the large background tree and the magenta bougenvilla. It was an overcast day, but I think the color comes through anyway. This was part of a California Art Club Paint-Out opportunity, and it was a wonderful day to meet and paint with a wide variety of other artists.
