This painting was a plein aire work done for an exhibit of the California Art Club at the Los Angeles County Fair, where it won 2nd place in the competition associated with the show. I had planned on going out in the evening and painting in the cow barn, but it was SO hot - at 9PM it was almost 100 degrees. So I sat down at the side entrance of the Art Exhibition building and saw this colorful food booth. OK, I love RED! I thought it turned out well for an only occasional plein aire painter.
